David Silvey was born in Bedford, Texas on July 17th, 1999. He was raised in Richland Hills, along with four siblings. David has family members all across the state of Texas, including Hurst, Denton, and Katy.
David attended school exclusively inside District 91. After starting at Jack C. Binion Elementary School and later Richland Middle School, he attended Birdville High School, where he graduated with a 3.69 GPA in 2017.
While attending Birdville High School, David was inducted into the National Honor Society; a prestigious group of students that distinguish themselves by maintaining a high GPA, having no referrals, and receiving recommendations by teachers and staff. David logged over 100 hours of volunteer work during his two year tenure as part of the National Honor Society.
Additionally, David was a four-year member of the Mighty Hawk Band, where he competed in the State Marching Competition in 2015. He also served as an elected representative of the junior class in 2016.
After high school, David was called to public service. He left Texas and relocated to Massachusetts in 2018 to volunteer with the national service program AmeriCorps. There, he spent over seven months working in underdeveloped communities of the greater New England area. David takes pride in the multitude of accomplishments that he and his fellow corps members achieved to improve the quality of life in these areas. Over the course of his service term, he taught a math course to kindergarten and first grade students, taught a beginner music class to high school students, facilitated support groups, worked at local food banks, offered assistance to non-profits in the region, and much more. In total, David logged over 1,300 hours of service. David has praised the opportunity to serve his country through this program, and has worked to implement the learned tools, experiences, and strategies from his experience in AmeriCorps into his current work.
After serving his country with AmeriCorps, David was happy to return to North Richland Hills, Texas. He immediately returned to college in the district, and completed his Associate of Arts Degree at Tarrant County College in the Fall of 2020. During his time at Tarrant County College, David studied a wide variety of subjects. He particularly took interest in Texas history, video production, and broadcasting. David was named to the Honor's List by the Executive Vice Chancellor in recognition of his outstanding academic achievements upon completion of his degree.
David is proud to have worked for the Texas Rangers Baseball Club since 2016, where he has supervised the Texas Rangers Youth Ballpark for several years. He has also worked directly with youth development programs, raised money for the Texas Rangers Foundation, and volunteered for marathon runs, toy drives, and more over his years of service to the Rangers.
In his free time, David hosts, writes, and produces the political podcast "The Conservative Front," alongside his twin brother and campaign manager Christopher Silvey.
